There is a body of people in this country, when it comes to Iraq,  continually point the finger at the Blair/Bush tribe of thugs, condemning them as responsible for the slaughter in that unfortunate country, a country whose crime was to be positioned over vast oil reserves. However, what they seem to forget is that the Blair War Lord’s macho project in Iraq could not have gone ahead without the full support of “Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition,” That other half of the flag waving parasites in the Westminster Houses of Corruption, called the Opposition, could have stopped this slaughter of innocent Iraqis and the death and maiming of British working class youth, if they so desired. It is not the figurehead that needs smashing, it is the whole of the state apparatus that needs to be dismantled. This ignominious vicious project to commandeer Iraq’s vast oil assets could not have gone ahead without generations of luring the working class into a subservient volunteer armed forces, without the militarization of every facet of our society. From the seduction of our children by fashion and toys marketing, to the disgustingly massive arms budgets over the years. Never the less, we are all complicit in this “war is noble” illusion, we accept it and we allow our kids to be hypnotised by that illusion. Enter any toy store and you are immediately engulfed in an endless array of combat games, war games, plastic and metal missile carriers, tanks, bombers, battleships, fighter-planes, guns, etc. etc.. There are camouflage trouser, shirts, jackets, caps and bags, all for kids, all to instil in our kids that the warrior is “COOL” Our kids play at killing and we laugh, some grow up and do it for real, and we cry. We have allowed the state to create a culture of warriors, warriors who see glory in death, warriors who will be defending the corporate world’s plundered wealth and the state’s desire for power. Is this what we want for our children and grandchildren, a culture on the warpath, a warrior culture where killing is an acceptable answer to any problem? A warrior culture where our resources are spent in the manufacture of weapons of mass destruction? A warrior culture where the death and destruction of innocents is an acceptable collateral damage statistic? There is an alternative, a world of co-operation, of mutual aid, of seeing to the needs of all our people and not to the greed of shareholders and the corporate world. A stateless world free of borders, based on federated communities, on sustainability, a world in which poverty is a distant memory and peace is the only road to walk.

Quote; “We kill at every step, not only in wars, riots, and executions. We kill when we close our eyes to poverty, suffering, and shame. In the same way all disrespect for life, all hard-heartedness, all indifference, all contempt is nothing else than killing.” Herman Hesse 1877-1962, Poet & Novelist.
